The second Poll of the Month is done (and no, there wasn’t an article for the first one, sorry, I didn’t get the idea until after it was too late). You were asked where you get your inspiration from for your characters and the results are fairly conclusive:
Novels – 42.1%
Movies – 19.3%
Other – 12.3%
TV Shows – 10.5%
Video Games – 8.8%
and tied for last place Blogs/Podcasts and Comics – 3.5% each
I find it interesting that novels was at the top of the list. I guess gamers are much more literate than what we’re told the rest of our culture is.
I saw those results coming in and specifically tailored some of our content in July to address inspiration from novels, and for that you got a One Shot from Ed Greenwood, novelist and gamer.
I’m curious what fits under “other” I know someone mentioned music, but what else does “other” mean to you? I’m also curious if there are specific characters from all these sources of inspiration you have imitated or is it simply concepts that you expand out to unique character concepts? Leave a comment in the show notes and let me know
What class is the most fun to play? And no, not every class is represented in the list, but I certainly couldn’t include them all so I tried to pick a cross-section of classes that I had particularly fun elements or represented a different style of play…and of course included the “Other” option so you can always pick that one instead.
